I heard that there is growing enthusiasm in America, which may now increase in Europe for facial yoga – that’s right facial yoga!!!
Facial Yoga is designed to stretch the muscles in the face to keep you looking young. According to fans of facial yoga stretching your face into outlandish grimaces reduces wrinkles and worry lines.
It [...]

A group of fellow bloggers and I (a mixture of cultures) have set up a co-operative blog posting on Poland and Polish culture. We will post subjects that we don’t put on our regular blogs, so if you like what I write here, please be sure to check in on the co-op blog from time-to-time.

Polish Government needs to manage the Economy better

As I have repeatedly indicated in recent posts Poland’s economy needs very careful handling. The euphoria over the value of the PLN must be tempered with the costs of exports; when local currency goes up against foreign currency importers reduce demand. The EU recognize the problems of this and have down graded Poland’s economic growth [...]
Americas Unhealthy Social Connections

A recent comparison of the mental and physical health of American and British people raises some intriguing questions. Here’s a few key data points:
Americans spend 2.5 more on health care than British – yet have higher rates of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, lung disease, and cancer.
The richest, healthiest Americans are as sick as the poorest [...]

I had another early morning meeting across town today. Last week, for a meeting at the same time and building I walked but it took 1 hour and this morning I was busy writing up a proposal before the meeting so decided to take the tram!
Recognizing that I have been taking trams and metros quite [...]
Daft Polish Laws don’t get passed

Sometimes an error in an article can be quite appropriate. For example “Polskie Radio’s” the News.pl reported that the new Government has been lazy since coming to office and that the oppositions legislative submissions of ‘draft’ laws were not accepted. The article actually made an error and said the oppositions initiatives were ‘daft laws’ – [...]
The Strength of Poland and the Polish People

The emblem of Poland is the Eagle. Good choice – Powerful, Inspiring, Beautiful and Strong. All of these are also characteristics that we can find in Poland and the Polish people.
I should add resilient because the Polish people have the ability to bounce back against adversity. This is evident from the way they [...]
Making Changes – Paying it Forward
Posted in Observations, Things I Like, health on February 14, 2008 | 8 Comments »
Human networks are exponential. Like the “pay it forward” concept – smiles, laughter and even good deeds are contagious. If you make 3 people smile, within 20 degrees of separation the entire world will be smiling. We underestimate our capacity to effect change because we underestimate the growth of an exponential function.

My best man at our wedding, well actually she was not exactly a man – Ewa, my best woman, at our wedding has a wonderful saying “nie rób wiochy” which translates to “don’t make a village”.
In English this sounds quite strange, the saying’s translation does not quite explain what Ewa means when she’s [...]

I had to take an early morning, 6:30am, tram to a meeting today. Early morning meetings are quite frequent in Poland, much more so than they are in other parts of Europe – particularly France! In England we have a couple of expressions ‘The early bird catches the worm’ and ‘Early to bed, early to [...]
